Racial Injustice anywhere is Racial Injustice Everywhere

It remains the mission of TEACH TLC to transform educators through advocacy, collaboration, and health. The pain of what has happened in the past few months has reminded all of the injustice many of our colleagues and students, families and neighbors face and have been facing for way too long!

We will continue to work with and for educators and leaders all over the country in the fight for a better tomorrow.

The senseless murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the countless others who do not make the evening news have brought pain to so many.

As educators and leaders- for those of us in the urban communities and those who are not- it is time to help push forward, make change, be better, and do better.

TEACH TLC ON GO FUND ME

One dollar a teacher can do so much… https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/teachers-love-teachers/teach-tlc-nj

It is the goal of TEACH TLC to help educators. In light of recent events, between Covid 19 and the recent events in our nation surrounding George Floyd, now more than ever teachers will need the resources to deal with trauma, self care, and professional development to help them get through this most heartbreaking and difficult time in our nation. Whether it is getting help, resources, or training on ways to deal with what is happening- educators need support now more than ever.

Our educators, our children, and our communities are suffering right now. We need to come together to make a positive impact.

Who Are We?

I have been in education for the past fifteen years. My first year was as a kindergarten teacher. I then moved on to middle school English and History for the rest of my career. I am currently a Supervisor of Humanities at an inner city high school.

I am a certified life coach and was a personal trainer for years. Education and changing lives is my passion and life work and I know from experience, that often events in life outside of the classroom, truly take a toll on the body, mind, and spirit.

In giving my life to helping others, I realized that the only way to make a difference, make a change, is to do for myself what I was willing to do for others.

I would like to use my experience, knowledge, and this organization to help others become the best versions of themselves. It is my belief that the more teachers we take care of, the more students will benefit.

About

TEACH TLC is a non profit organization designed to

Transform Educators through Advocacy, Collaboration, & Health

As educators ourselves, we see the many struggles teachers go through in their personal lives. Whether it be something such as divorce or the loss of a loved one, to a sick parent or even a cancer diagnosis.

It is not to say that these events do not occur in every life- but as teachers, we get up every day, put our own life issues aside, and walk into our class rooms, happily giving our students 100%.

How is it we can give 100% to our career and yet so many times run on 10% ourselves? It is our goal at TEACH TLC to advocate for teachers, collaborate with teachers, and provide them with any resource we can to help them be the best versions of themselves.

Though we can not change what may happen, we can be part of making it better. So, please support our mission.

Some of our current projects are:

A virtual 5k for a dear friend and colleague diagnosed with Lymphoma in January.

Gift cards to those struggling financially during the Corona Pandemic

Partnering with other agencies that may be able to provide necessary services at a low cost or free.

Fundraising for educators whose homes were destroyed by fire and/ or flood.

Healthy Meal Plans and Free Life Coaching

We are looking for any projects to support, please feel free to e mail us with your project.
